Perhaps news of the contest hasn't been widely circulated, but it's also likely we're seeing votes for Deborah's blog because she provides a hugely valuable service and has engaged a very loyal following.

And you can't expect an engagement marketing specialist to argue with engaged fans... 8-)

Personally, I don't think there's enough competition. There are tons of blogs out there offering more valuable information than a listing of job leads. I'm wondering if the lack of entries has to do with the simple fact that not enough people know about the contest? That's the reason I put it on my blog. I wanted to sort of spread the word and make it interesting.

Hey Guys;

Tom. I agree with your post. I am surprised that more people have not mentioned blog's like Brian Clarks.

The nominations will ultimately play a part in the decision for the top 10 list. However, the quantity of nominations ALONE will not play a part.

As you know, someone with a loyal following can flood the list. However, I care about the quality more than the quantity.

Mike

PS - Frankly the response has been *unexpected*

Qualified job listings would certainly draw traffic.

And I think a "tandem" CU/CDB nomination is technically beyond the rules (at least if I read his initial post correctly).

Which means it's every blog for itself. Law of the Jungle time.

As for the psychographics, job listings are great, but newer copywriters should look up the road every once in a while to see where they're headed.

I don't know how Michael is tabulating results, but your loyal readers could consider a tandem nomination of CU and CDB, right?

Deb is a runaway winner, and although it may have something to do with audience psychographics but it probably has much more to do with Deb's "Holy Crap!" traffic flow and loyalty from those who find jobs via her listings.

Deb's linked to me a few times, and I invariably see a monstrous traffic spike on those days, even if the mention is only a brief aside... And, even though I rarely examine job listings at all, I am totally impressed by her commitment to wrangle all of those potential gigs and put them in one place every day.

Here's to seeing you in the top 10 (which really is a brilliant move by WhitePaperSource)...
