Gone Fishing. No Nasty Comments Please.

After working the last three weekends, I’m taking Monday off and going fly fishing.

I’m experiencing absolutely no remorse.

To heighten the envy, I live at the base of Mount Shasta (background) - just below that thin sliver of snow at the right edge of the frame.

Back again Tuesday. Maybe.

  1. Hey, you live by Mt. Shasta?! How cool. I didn’t realize we were so close. Has it been as cold there as it has here? Sheesh. Our pool actually froze, leaves mid-water and all. Hope you caught something good, and big!

  2. So nice to be reading through my RSS feeds and see that you live by Mt. Shasta! I grew up in Redding, California (we were just 5 minutes from Shasta Lake) and we made frequent trips to a place called Gumboot Lake that is up in your neck of the woods. I live in Portland, Oregon now, but I have fond memories from my childhood of Mt. Shasta, Lake Siskiyou and Gumboot. Have fun on your fishing trip!

  3. Diane; Where do you live?

Shannon: Gumboot is one of my favorite quick afternoon fishing raids, though the crowds of drive-in campers in the summer make it an undesireable camping spot nowadays.

The fishing? Sadly lacking yesterday. 8-(
