Ryan;

Thanks for the kind words. I'm a cyclist too (though off the bike right now due to injury). Good to do some seriously fun creative now and again.

Tom - Thanks so much for sharing! I love the ads, by the way, especially since I'm a cyclist.

The Mount Shasta ride reminds me of one we have here in Colorado called The Triple Bypass. It's over 120 miles, and crosses Squaw Pass, Loveland Pass, and Vail Pass all in a single day.

Steve: Thanks for the kind words.

Small brands are always at a disadvantage in the terms of a print media buy, but if they're willing to take a few risks, the quality of the advertising shouldn't suffer.

The real shame is that I can't repeat the creative online...

These ads are really effective examples of simplicity. You understood the target market and appealed directly to their nature. You also remind us that great ads are not just for larger powerhouse brands.

The final test is in the results, and it looks like you are getting those. I am going to have some of our clients who are puzzled at the importance of good copy (and good design) wander over here for a look. Great work.

Thanks! In one sense, it's been frustrating. There are so many ways to market this ride (I've just scratched the surface), and yet our desire to grow slowly means I won't get to try them.

How often are marketers victims of their own success?

This was a nice read, Tom. Well done with the results.
