Joseph: Great points. It's an art, but unless you can eat your unsuccessful first drafts, it's also a business.

Roberta: Excellent idea. The excitement level can be pretty high at first, and possibilities bubble to the surface like a hot tub.

Might as well capture some of those words while they're coming fast, and save 'em for later.

Stellar post, Tom. In addition to the variations you suggest as add-ons for client value, I always "overwrite" material for a new client. Provides me with a wealth of content to draw from for additional client work and it's written while I'm still "hot" and enthusiastic. :)

Tom,

Wise words indeed. I think people in general get hung up on "the reason why"...where they can instead capitalize on changing markets by shifting their focus to "how can I use this and move forward?".

That comes with the responsibility of actually running your copywriting business as a business...including analyzing trends in your business, and capitalizing on them.

Becoming a value added copywriter in the process.

Seeming like, as a writer, you are "on top of things."

Instead of reacting to change...think proactively, and most importantly, move on and enjoy life.
