The dark underbelly of the Information Age becomes apparent when I try to organize my online life — especially when noting useful Web pages and blog entries for later use.
I’ve tried several approaches that didn’t quite work, and now — one that does.
I stumbled across Instapaper — a point/click/done bookmarking service for those of us with an appreciation for fast, effective, simple information management solutions.
Install the Instapaper bookmarklet in your browser, register for an account, find a Web page you want to save for later, click… and it’s done.
The end result is a simple, clean, chronological list of Web pages for later use. Instapaper couches their service in terms of building your own online newspaper, but its utility extends far beyond news.
Less powerful than Google Notebook — which is probably a better tool for in-depth research — I consider Instapaper the perfect one-click URL notepad.
Simply put, it’s everything you need to quickly track URLs of interest, and not one pixel more.
