You become a better writer by reading great writers, and putting a lot of (carefully considered) words on paper. Blogging satisfies both.

Great comment on practicing to become a better writer. At work I write strickly technical bulletins. And I never read fiction. So its difficult for me to “feel” creative when I write articles for my web site. But I am getting there. I just purchased the book “Elements of Style” mentioned in another of your posts. Thanks.
