Vadim: Another update’s coming. I managed to solve the modem problem (lots of hassle, but…).

The podcasting problem has gone sideways though, and I’m glad to hear a better blog editor might be in the works.

I wouldn’t consider it a paradise at all. Yes, modems do suck.

As for blogging… I did a quick search on it, and it looks like the BlogGTK tool is making a comeback and a 2.0 version is in the works. Might want to keep an eye on that, and offer the input on images.

If anyone is having trouble installing/configuring linux. Or likes to do so and is quite good at it. Then buntfu.com may be a good fit for you.

Andrew: Unfortunately, I have a perfectly good built-in modem working only a boot away (Vista).

I’ve proven to myself that Ubuntu can do the common, everyday office/web stuff very, very well.

Where it’s getting dicey is in the areas of media hardware and software choices.

Internal modem support in Linux sucks, bottom line. Save yourself the pain and go out an buy an external modem that is known to work with Ubuntu. (Google is your friend here)
